I recently talked to Ian Wicks on Facebook and asked him if he would be so kind as to answer some questions about internet marketing. He agreed (awesome dude by the way), so here are his answers..enjoy.
What got you started in internet marketing?
I got a job in an Internet Company back in 1999, I knew nothing about computers and didn’t even know what the internet meant. I just needed a job. Well I got the job because I told them I would beat their top sales man in a month, well within 2 week I had done that, and it amazed me I caught the bug the very first day I found out about it. First time on a real Computer and the internet thingy was Awesome.
How has internet marketing changed your life?
The Internet has given me hope and also a great base of friends online, it is a great feeling to be around like minded and positive people, I recommend it to anyone to try it.
What’s your favorite part about helping people succeed?
My best part without doubt is when someone learns something new and “gets it, gets just what is at their reach” that goes for anyone reading this, everyone can do this, i’m dyslexic and left school with no education at all and I am doing it.
Who are some of the internet marketers you look up to?
I look up to people that are honest in the way they deal with people, ok some names you may or may not know, but each is worth checking out, Armond Morin, Peter Parks, Rich Schefren, Tom Hua, Dean Holland, Mark Lyford, Mark Donnan to name a few I could go on all day, I guess I should add Frank Kern in there as well.
If you had one “golden nugget” of advice for beginning internet marketers, what would it be?
The best advice to anyway starting on line is very simple yet is very hard to stick to and that is: focus on one thing, see it though and get it done, it does not have to be perfect, just get it done.
always keep your focus, internet marketing is a mine field of information and is so easy to get info overload I know because i did this myself (learning curve/wasted time), if this is you “just stop, then focus on what you want and maintain this focus at all times”. You will see the power of this, but only if you use it.

Enjoyed reading the interview. I liked the advice that we should focus only on one thing at a time and put our best effort into it. People like Ian Wicks shows direction not only to readers but people from every walks of life. Such interviews really makes readers become more wiser.
