There’s no doubt about it that having a link building strategy is super important. In fact, it’s one of the most important parts of SEO. And so it should be with your SEO strategy. It’s widely known that search engines, especially Google, love sites with lots of back links.
In Google’s eyes, the more links you have pointing to your site, the more “reputable” you are. Google sees sites with lots of high quality back links as a high authority. Notice I said HIGH QUALITY. This is something I’ve talked about before, at least touched on. I need to make sure you understand how to have a proper link building strategy.
So we’ve established that the Big G (and other search engines) LOVE sites with lots and lots of back links. They also love it when these back links are from high page rank sites. In other words, sites with high authority. So how exactly do you go about getting these links?
So what is the correct link building strategy?
Well fortunately, there are many, many ways of getting back links to your site. You can leave blog comments with your link them. I wouldn’t go so far as to say there is only 1 correct link building strategy. You can send articles to article directories. You ask another webmaster to put you on their blogroll…often in exchange for you doing the same. You can create a network of blogs that all point back to your site.
There are many web 2.0 blogging sites that let you publish blogs for free. Here is a list of some very high page rank sites. These will let you create free webpages and blogs that can link back to your main site (your money site):
- insane journal
- genius wiki
- on sugar
- pico wiki
I know for a fact the building links from these sites really works and will greatly improve your rankings. Of course, there is always automated options for link building as well. One of these I highly recommend is backlinkin.com. Backlinkin will send your link to several high page rank sites at once. As you would expect though, you should be very careful with this.
If you send too many links in one day, then Google will devalue those links..meaning they won’t count them. Or they will just give them very little weight. With link building, ESPECIALLY since the Panda update, you must make it look natural.
The best rule of thumb for link building is…don’t build more links in a day than you could build manually. In other words, if you can only comment on 20 blogs in a day before you get sick of it, don’t build more than that automatically.
Google is very hard to understand..and I’m sure they will never make their algorithms completely public. That would defeat the purpose, and then everyone could game the search engines. With a lot of practice and consistent action-taking..you will develop your own link building strategy. Just whatever you do, be careful..make it look natural!
