Branding is one of the most important elements of succeeding online. Consistency should be one of the main elements of your branding strategy.
If you want people to notice you, it’s super important that you stay consistent with your brand. The most obvious reason you want to do this is because it will get your name out there, and it will make people remember you a lot easier.
It’s important that you pick the name of your brand, and a logo, and STICK WITH IT. If you change your brand every couple of months or so, it will never catch on and you will be climbing an uphill battle of being noticed in your online endeavors.
Branding is especially important if you run a blog. Ideally, you should pick a blog title, and a subtitle, and stick with it. You should also pick a design that fits you that you’re comfortable with, and stick with that as well.
I used to make the mistake of changing my blog design every couple of weeks or so, I mean a nearly complete redesign! That’s far too much, and it’s very hard to build up an online identity when you do that sort of thing.
It’s not as hard as you would think to get your name out there, you just have to put in the required marketing work, and stay consistent with that also. Social Media is probably the best way to build up your brand, especially if you’re on a low advertising budget.
There are many awesome free ways to market your brand – which is for another post (I’ve already done a few posts on the subject – I plan on doing more too! ). When building up your brand and marketing yourself, just stay consistent and persistent. Don’t ever give up, even if it seems not to be catching on…eventually it will if you keep at it!
